Simple Recipe With Ranch Dressing - Sauces by Jrk!

Ranch dressing is a popular sauce made from mayonnaise, buttermilk, and seasonings. It's often used as a dip or spread for vegetables, chicken, and other meats. Ranch dressing can also be used in recipes to add flavor and moisture. Here is a simple recipe for ranch dressing that you can make at home.

What Is A Ranch?

Ranch dressing is one of the most popular condiments in America. It is a type of dipping sauce that is made from mayonnaise, buttermilk, and seasonings. It is often used as a dip or spread for vegetables, chicken, and other meats. Ranch dressing can also be used in recipes to add flavor and moisture. You can find ranch dressing in most grocery stores, or you can make it at home using this recipe.

Ranch Dressing Ingredients

For making this ranch dressing recipe, you'll need the following ingredients:

Sour Cream

Use light sour cream to keep the calories and fat content down, but you could also use full-fat sour cream if you prefer. You'll need 1 cup (240ml) of sour cream for this recipe.

Buttermilk

Buttermilk makes the dressing nice and thick, as well as giving it a lovely tang. You could also use milk if you don’t have buttermilk on hand. You'll need 1 cup (240ml) of buttermilk for this recipe.

Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise is the base of most ranch dressings. You could use a light mayonnaise to keep the calories and fat content down, but you could also use full-fat mayonnaise if you prefer. You'll need 1/2 cup (120ml) of mayonnaise for this recipe.

Fresh Herbs

Fresh herbs are what give ranch dressing its distinctive flavor. You'll need 1/4 cup (60ml) of chopped fresh herbs for this recipe. We will like to use a combination of parsley, chives, and dill, but you can use whatever herbs you like.

Garlic And Lemon Juice

Garlic and lemon juice add a bit of zing to the dressing. You'll need 1 clove of garlic, minced, and 1 tablespoon (15ml) of lemon juice for this recipe.

Salt And Pepper

You'll need to add salt and pepper to taste. It's best to start with 1/4 teaspoon (1ml) of salt and 1/8 teaspoon (0.5ml) of pepper and then add more to taste.

How To Make Ranch Dressing?

Now that you've gathered all of your ingredients, it's time to make the dressing.

Whisk

Take a large bowl and whisk together the sour cream and buttermilk, mayonnaise, fresh herbs, garlic, and lemon juice until smooth. Season the dressing with salt and pepper to taste. Remember that you can always add more seasoning, but you can't take it away.

If the dressing is too thick, you can thin it out by whisking in some additional buttermilk or milk. If the dressing is too thin, you can thicken it by whisking in some additional mayonnaise sour cream.

Blend

For a smoother dressing, you can blend the ingredients in a blender or food processor. Chill the dressing in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. This ranch dressing will keep in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Ready To Eat!

Your ranch dressing is now ready to enjoy. Serve it as a dip with vegetables or chips, use it as a spread on sandwiches or wraps, or use it in recipes in place of other sauces. Enjoy!
